OKO App Comes To Canada

On this episode of Double Tap on YouTube, Steven and Shaun find out about the Oko app which is coming to Canada on July 1st 2024.

It aims to help people with mobility issues to easily navigate and explore cities. The app uses the back camera of an iPhone and artificial intelligence to interpret pedestrian signals and will provide turn-by-turn directions through new navigation features.

The app recently won an Apple Design Award in the inclusivity category. The founder of the Oko app, Michael Janssen, discusses the app’s features, challenges, and future plans.
