Autonomous Adventures: Gregg’s Driverless Waymo Experience

Listener Gregg Hayes joins Steven and Shaun to talk about his experience as a blind man using Waymo, a driverless car service in Phoenix.

He explains how he ordered a car through the app and it arrived right in front of him in minutes. Greg found the app to be accessible and the voice inside the car was calming. He tells the Double Tappers that he felt safe and enjoyed the convenience of not needing a sighted person to drive him. Greg also mentioned that he appreciated the detailed instructions given by the voice, which made him feel informed about the ride.

Overall, Greg had a positive experience and thinks driverless cars have the potential to improve transportation for blind people.
