WHOeyes App
The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed a new app called WHOeyes, which allows people to test their vision independently.
The app, available for free on iOS and Android platforms, works by holding the phone a prescribed distance from the face and swiping in the direction the letter āEā is facing. Designed for clinics and areas where traditional eye charts are not easily accessible, the app has a high accuracy rate and can be helpful for caregivers in the blind and low vision community to monitor visual changes in their patients.
It also allows people to gather information for themselves without waiting for an appointment.
Listener Lena recommends this app, and says it provides clear instructions, helpful tips, and stores all data on the phone.
