Vispero’s Next Big Thing Contest Winner Announced

The winner of Freedom Scientific’s Next Big Thing contest has been announced as Abby Duffy, who suggested that AI image descriptions be built into the JAWS screenreader.

Freedom Scientific, a leading manufacturer of assistive technology for people with vision impairments, launched the innovative contest back in September to crowdsource new features for their renowned software products JAWS and ZoomText. Finalists’ ideas included creating a JAWS Gym to help people get to know the numerous keyboard shortcuts within JAWS, and a cool idea to give you paragraph previews of documents, websites and more without having to open the item up.
