Updates To PiccyBot App

In this episode of Double Tap, Steven Scott and Shaun Preece welcome Martijn van der Spek to discuss the latest updates to PiccyBot. Martijn reveals that PiccyBot is evolving into a media center capable of processing videos and images from various apps, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. “You can share videos directly from these apps to PiccyBot for processing,” he explains, noting that users can also mix original audio with audio descriptions, adjust volume levels, and customize voices and languages.

Martijn highlights the addition of 13 AI models, including Google’s Gemini 1206, which he describes as “the most elaborate and accurate model right now.” He emphasizes the importance of having multiple models: “Mistral is less censored, while cloud models are better at describing expressions.” PiccyBot remains competitive by quickly integrating new AI developments, though Martijn is eager to add live AI features once available. He teases a hands-free WhatsApp service for Meta Ray-Ban glasses users, allowing them to send videos to PiccyBot for description via voice commands.

PiccyBot offers a free tier with limited features and a Pro subscription for $3/month, providing access to all models, high-quality video processing, and audio mixing. “One blind video producer told me PiccyBot helps confirm his edits are visually accurate,” Martijn shares. PiccyBot is available on iOS and Android, with recent updates bringing feature parity across platforms. Learn more at piccybot.com.
