The Tapo D235 offers strong features, including battery or hardwired installation, local SD card storage or optional cloud backup, and 24/7 recording when hardwired. Its AI detection accurately identifies people and vehicles, filtering out general movement alerts. Kelvin highlights how easy it is to access and share recordings, even integrating with Seeing AI for quick descriptions.

Additional benefits include a loud internal chime, Alexa announcements, and phone call-style alerts for doorbell presses. Although two-way talk requires tapping a microphone button in the app, communication is clear and simultaneous. Purchased at £90 (down from £120), Kelvin calls the Tapo D235 an excellent, fully accessible smart doorbell for anyone seeking control without frustration.
