Roads Audio App Offers Cross-Platform Voice Messaging App with Accessibility in Focus
Dave Faliskie, creator of Roads Audio, has introduced a new mobile app designed to bridge the gap between podcasting and private voice messaging. Available now on iOS and Android, the app allows users to exchange audio-only messages in private channels, complete with timestamped comments for branching conversations. Faliskie has confirmed that accessibility improvements, including support for VoiceOver and screen readers, have been implemented after early adoption by blind users.

Roads Audio functions as a purely voice-based messaging platform, structured around private “channels” where invited participants can record and respond to audio messages. Unlike traditional messaging apps, Roads is entirely audio-focused, while avoiding the immediate pace of text chat. Messages have no maximum length, and comments can be attached to specific timestamps within a recording, allowing conversations to branch in a structured, nested format.
Faliskie explained, “While you’re listening to someone else’s message, you can create an audio comment which will branch off into a road of audio. Over time, the conversations can develop into a more in-depth and organised discussion.”
The app is free to use, with a premium subscription—Roads Audio Plus—offering features such as audio uploads, downloads, playback speed controls, and transcription. Although currently private and invitation-based, Filiski indicated that public or discoverable channels may be introduced in the future, noting that moderation and comment management will be necessary before expanding into a broader social platform.
The app has seen notable interest from blind users due to its audio-first approach. Faliskie acknowledged that feedback from this community has already shaped accessibility enhancements and may drive future development toward a fully hands-free, voice-controlled experience.
Roads Audio provides a potential new tool for users seeking richer, asynchronous voice conversations, particularly those who prefer audio-first communication. Its accessibility focus and cross-platform support make it a relevant option for blind users and developers exploring inclusive design in emerging audio platforms.
