Could A New Screenreader For Mac Be On The Way?

A blind developer is working on a new project to develop a third-party screenreader for the Mac, similar to NVDA for Windows.

João Santos, who is from Portugal, is currently creating the new software as he feels there has been “general neglect of MacOS accessibility from Apple” for some time.

Writing in a blog post on AppleVis, Santos says the project – called Vosh – which is a contraction between Vision and Macintosh,  is still very much in its infancy, however he is keen to get the word out to the community on its progress.
