WeWALK: The Smart Cane That Does More Than Detect Obstacles

Jean-Marc from WeWALK introduces the next evolution of the white cane: a smart device with navigation, obstacle detection, and a growing suite of app-connected features that enhance mobility and independence for blind users.

WeWALK’s mission is to take the humble white cane and make it smarter without changing what makes it reliable. Jean-Marc explains how the WeWALK cane integrates with an app to deliver turn-by-turn navigation, public transit details, and local discovery features.

The built-in ultrasonic sensor detects obstacles from chest to head level—solving a major gap with traditional canes. Designed in partnership with the blind community, WeWALK is constantly evolving and now available in 59 countries.

Jean-Marc also shares that upcoming updates include object recognition and AI-enhanced orientation assistance—further bridging independence gaps.
