Announcement
Introducing Double Tap Live
A 24/7 audio stream for accessibility, assistive technology and disability inclusion. Double Tap Live goes on air on Wednesday 30th September with a two-hour live show — and the start of Double Tap’s tenth year.
Double Tap Live is a new streaming audio platform built around one subject: life with blindness and low vision, and the technology that shapes it. Live event coverage, original shows, partner podcasts and community voices, on air around the clock.
Launch day: Wednesday 30th September, 1pm ET
The stream opens with a special two-hour launch show, carried across every Double Tap platform. You can listen at doubletaponair.com/live, or on TuneIn, which carries Double Tap Live to smart speakers, connected cars, mobile apps and streaming devices worldwide.
The broadcast also marks the beginning of Double Tap’s tenth year, and there will be more announcements during the show to mark the milestone.
It is the first in a new monthly live series bringing listener call-ins, special features and guests to the platform. Kicking things off is Sriram Ganesh, founder and CEO of Lumin, the voice-first AI assistant built for blind and low-vision users.
Always on, after launch day
Once it is live, the stream stays on: a mix of live and scheduled programming — original shows, partner podcasts, interviews, event coverage and community conversations — available any time on the web, through TuneIn and on Amazon smart speakers, with further integrations on the way.
More than 20 shows at launch
Alongside Double Tap’s Weekend and Mainstream editions, the line-up brings together leading voices from across the community, with more shows joining after launch:
- Tuesday Topics, from the American Council of the Blind
- Hadley Presents
- Vispero Connect, formerly FSCast
- Eyes On Success
- The Blind Life Podcast
- That Real Blind Tech Show
- Sunday Edition, with Anthony Corona
- EBU in Action, from the European Blind Union
- Pathways to Zero Barriers, from the Zero Project
- Triple Vision, from the Pandora Project
AMI on Double Tap Live
Longtime partner AMI (Accessible Media Inc.) brings Reflections, My Life in Books and Audiobook Cafe to the stream, and will debut its new podcast, Access in Progress, on the platform this autumn.
New from Double Tap
Two original shows debut on the platform: Double Tap Presents: Good Vibes, and Our Perspective, with Kolby and Michael.
There will also be expanded on-the-ground reporting from CES, accessibility conferences and international technology forums throughout the year, and the monthly live shows, where listeners from around the world call in, join open discussions and talk to hosts, guests and each other in real time.
Support for creators
Double Tap Live offers production, consulting and technical guidance to creators and organisations launching accessibility-focused shows — including At Your Fingertips with Chris Cook, and other partner programming in development.
“Double Tap Live is about creating a true home for accessibility conversations and community. We wanted to build something people could turn on at any time and instantly feel connected to what’s happening across the world of accessible technology and disability inclusion. Whether it’s live coverage from an event, a podcast discussion, or hearing directly from creators and community members, this platform gives those voices a place to be heard.”
